Heading West

Dear Fellow Reader,

Hello! Its been a long time no post kind of situation. I have been very busy gathering my things together from school, bringing them home, then packing again and flying out to California. Its exhausting work. But Since I have not posted in a few days let me catch you up on my life:

Saturday 4/18: I LEFT COLLEGE! First year officially over. Packed all my things, headed home and went out to a nice dinner with some old neighbors and dear friends.

Sunday 4/19: Visited my Grandparents for the day and stayed for my absolute favorite Roast Beef dinner my grand-mom made. It gets better every time I eat it.

Monday 4/20: Hell. Literally Hell. I have been having trouble with my iTunes and iPhone for a while but there is no apple store near my school so I had to wait till I got home. I spent 4 dreadful hours at the apple store trying to fix my phone and they finally decided to give me a brand new phone and synch it up to all my storage. Its not the workers who made it dreadful, who were very helpful and patient, it was just the fact that something I thought would take 45 minutes tops ended up taking up most of my afternoon. But at the end of the day I got the damn thing fixed.

Tuesday 4/21: It was an all you can eat kind of day (literally). I went out to lunch with my Aunt Kathy, Uncle Joe and adorable baby cousin Lea, who is just so damn cute you could just die. Then I took my cousin to Moe's, where we got some awesome burrito bowls. And after that I went out with my very good childhood friend to get some flippin awesome sushi. It was a good day.

And that leaves us with Today! So here's how it went down.

I woke up at around 5:45 am to take a shower, get dressed and out of the house by 6:15 with my mom and nana.

We drove to the airport and while I was tired I was more excited then anything.

My father unfortunately could not come with us because he is very busy with his job right now, so It was sad to leave him, but I know I will see him sometime before i die.

It says that boarding ends at 9:14, even though we boarded at 9:15. oops.

And is it just me or do I look massively sun burnt on my ID in this photo? That's not how it really looks so I'm not quite sure why my camera wanted to make my face a shade of red but wateves. (Sometimes the thing has a mind of its own)

And I also thought of airport food as something that would be disgusting, but today I proved myself wrong. I ordered a waffle with mixed berries and fruit before boarding and it was quite delicious!

After we ran on board and got seated (I made sure i got the window seat, because the window seat is for cool kids) I thought about how dreadfully boring the plane could be because its close to 6 hours. But in all honestly, we couldn't of had a more perfect flight. It didn't go nearly as long as I thought, no turbulence and I squeezed in about 2 to 3 naps.

Here are a few pictures took from out my window:

Cool pics, huh? See, it never hurts to get the window seat.

And here is my beverage of choice, Ginger Ale. You see, I learned something very heart breaking on this flight. They usually always offer a snack along with you drink, like pretzels, a chocolate bar or nuts, but all snacks were an up charge. So they only gave away drinks for free. I find it crazy, so today my drink was solo with no bag of pretzels. Sigh.

But our flight finally came to an end and we were officially in Cali baby! It is the furthest west I have ever been and the weather was amazing. We flew into San Francisco and then drove our rental car into Fisherman's Wharf, where our hotel is located. We did a great deal of sight seeing.

Since I don't feel like writing that much anymore and I am just generally lazy today, I'm just gonna post a bunch of pictures of Fisherman's Wharf that you can enjoy at your leisure.

Groovy.

This is me and my nana in front of the famous Ghirardelli chocolate store in Ghirardelli square.

I also got my favorite chocolate treat ever. Chocolate covered espresso beans. nom nom.

All that walking left us quite hungry so we ate a delicious supper at a restaurant with a fantastic view.

And they had my favorite of all the food groups. Bread. God I love bread. I could have a whole meal of just bread. No lie its just that good. Add some good cheese and you have a winner in my book.

I told myself i wouldn't scarf it down in 10 seconds but............

yolo.

My mom and I felt like we just had to get the crab cakes. It didn't feel right to come to Fisherman's Wharf and not try the crab cakes. They turned out to be quite good. My favorite spot for crab cakes is still on the east coast, but we were not disappointed.

After dinner we took a walk down the pier to where all the sea lions lay on the docks. Its quite a strange phenomenon. Why do they do this?

Do they find this comfortable? I could look up the answers to these questions, but like I stated earlier I am just too lazy.

After dinner my nana decided that she had enough adventure for the day, but my mother and I needed a little more exploring before we hit the sac. so where did we go???

Back to the Ghirardelli store of course! This is my mother and I in Ghirardelli Square.

Yes, i know my glasses are crooked. deal with it.

This time we sat down and split a brownie sundae. It was probably the best sundae I ever ate in my life, no lie. The brownie was rich and chocolately, the ice cream was smooth and ultra creamy, the caramel sauce was not too sweet, and the hot fudge was out of this world. We couldn't finish all of it but we definitely left our mark.

After that sundae we walked back to our hotel where I am currently wrapping up this post. Stay tuned for more adventures tomorrow. But now i have to get to bed, the clock says 10:57 pm, but my body is telling me 1:57 am. Night fellow readers.
